Morning you lovely lot. I’m sorry it has been a little quiet around these parts for the past week or so but I have been really poorly with tonsillitis and am still fighting off the remnants of it now; but this has thrown my whole blogging everyday throughout December ‘thing’ right off. So I’ll be putting up as many posts as I can for the rest of December from now on, I hope this is ok.
Today, I wanted to chat you through my current pre party pampering routine. With countless amounts of events throughout December and the party season I hoped that this may come in a little useful for some of you.
Firstly, I love to use the The Body Shop Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub whilst in the bath. It’s so luxurious, it’s a creamy salt scrub containing skin softening butters from Africa that will leave skin silky soft and smooth with a subtle scent that just smells of spa. It’s a really thick and creamy scrub, it has an almost buttery texture and melts into your skin when massaged in. I love this stuff. It makes my skin feel so incredibly soft and moisturised perfect for those pin peeping dresses.
As a body wash I love the Molton Brown shower gels, I find their scent lingers for hours after using them and they lather up so luxuriously; I own quite possibly every single scent from the range. But one of my favourites for this time of year is the Coco & Sandalwood scent. It’s the most wonderful scent, beautifully warming thanks to the Sandalwood and Jasmine but also uplifting due to the Coconut and Coconut Fruit.
After getting out of the shower or bath it’s time to oil up. I have two current favourite body moisturisers, both perfect for this time of year. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil is such a beautiful body oil. It’s a dry oil and contains a whole host of skin friendly ingredients…macadamia, hazelnut, borage, sweet almond, camellia and St Johns wort oils along with a bunch of other plant extracts and a few other carrier oils. You literally need only the tiniest amount of product to suffice for the whole body as it spreads so evenly and effortlessly. Being an oil it will give the big hit of moisture that our skin needs at this time of year but will also sink in almost immediately. My other favourite being Kopari Beauty Coconut Body Glow*. This is a great addition to your collection for the party season. A beautiful shimmer packed oil that not only adds a little party glow but also hydrates and moisturises the skin. I often find with some shimmer moisturisers they don’t really moisturise the skin, in fact sometimes quite the opposite, so this is a complete breath of fresh air. Applied, especially to the legs, this gives the most beautiful sheen that hits the light in all the right places.
For my hair, I like it be big but naturally big, so just with a natural bounce and this Umberto Giannini Volumising Root Lift* does just that. A light gel like texture that you apply to the roots of damp hair to give texture and volume. It helps to lift the hair and layers to volumise the hair strands and also adds a slight hold. Also containing built in heat protection it not only styles the hair but protects it aswell. Because of the gel like texture it is completely invisible and weightless in the hair so unlike a lot of other volumising styling products it doesn’t add that stickiness just a beautiful natural bounce with a brilliant shine.
Once blow dried, I add a little Grow Gorgeous End Split Ends*. A leave in serum for the hair. It helps to nourish and repair the hair ends, infused by a cocktail of Amazonian oil goodness. It helps to seal all split ends and leaves the hair feeling and looking smooth with no greasiness or stickiness left behind. This just helps to finish a style off, it tames any flyaways, makes hair ends look polished and clean and leaves a beautiful shine. Another beautiful serum for the hair is this Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil, I like to use this on towel dried damp hair on the roots of my hair to give a slight lift and also to add some much needed moisture.
There’s one face mask that I love to use pre-night out and that’s the Lush Cup O’ Coffee Face Mask. Combining ground coffee, cocoa extract and agave syrup it’s a beautiful concoction for the skin. It instantly brightens and tightens the face making it my personal favourite for any night out. After using this I slap on The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. This plumps and brightens the skin to give the appearance of healthy and youthful looking skin with a beautiful glow when combined with this mask.
And lastly, I love to use the Volume Enhancing Lip Serum*, this for me is the perfect pre-party product. A volume enhancing lip serum come balm, containing Hyaluronic Acid to attract moisture to the lips and Sichaun pepper to create the tingling and plumping effect upon application. It gives an instant effect of defined lip contours and plumper fuller looking lips perfect for that festive red lippie.
