My Staple Skincare Items

My Staple Skincare Items

Being a beauty blogger I am often rotating and trying out new products, which means I have a lot of products within my collection and unless I really dislike a product or it has broke me out or reacted with my skin then I generally like to use it up and then bin it; rather than trialling it and then putting to the back my cabinet never to be seen again.

But even with the amount of products that move through my bathroom cabinet I still have a small capsule collection of products that I cannot and will not be without, so I wanted to run through these with you:

My Staple Skincare Items

Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser £25.00/200ml

Containing Aloe Vera and Tricoslan, this really helps to keep my complexion clear and blemish-free whilst still hydrated and balanced. It’s a beautiful light gel formula that is non-foaming so feels really gentle on the skin whilst still being super effective. I use this to remove makeup, to double cleanse and also as my morning cleanser, it’s the perfect all-rounder for me. The gel like texture is really lightweight and refreshing on the skin and the scent is really uplifting yet relaxing, I love this. I would probably go as far to say this is my all-time favourite cleanser.

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator £16.50/70ml

I would normally only exfoliate my skin around 2-3 times a week with a physical exfolient but I have recently, over the past month or so, been using this to exfoliate every morning before my normal cleanser. It really helps to make my skin glow for the day and give a better base to apply skincare and makeup on top of. And this particular exfoliator from Liz Earle has always been my go to. It’s a lovely thick and creamy formula containing Jojoba beads to gently exfoliate and buff away the dead skin cells and impurities from the surface of the skin. In my opinion it’s the perfect exfoliator for all year round. Not only does it work to exfoliate the skin but it also contains Beeswax to protect and relieve chapped skin, Glycerin to help maintain hydration levels in the skin and Sweet Almond Oil to moisturise skin and keep it feeling and looking soft and supple.

Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads £14.95/60 pads

My skin has always been quite badly textured with blemishes, I often get those pesky tiny under the skin bumps that look like milk spots and these are the only things that keep my skin smooth. The Glycolic Acid is a chemical exfoliator which works really well for my skin, they really help to remove that top layer of dead skin cells from your face to reveal a fresher and healthier glow. I use these every single night and they really help to keep my skin from looking dull and help towards keeping my skin blemish free. I actually ran out of these around a couple of months ago and didn’t re-purchase them as I had another similar style product to try out but my skin completely freaked out, and now I’ve got them back my skin is back to its usual self.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask £24.99/75ml

I use a mask pretty much every day, whether that be in the morning or evening and I reach for this particular mask probably around 95% of the time. The consistency is like a creamy gel moisturiser that you just slather all over your face, leave for 10-15 minutes and rinse off. It’s not drying in the slightest so makes a lovely change to some of the masks that I use that give that all too familiar tight sensation. After using this my skin is left feeling cleansed, moisturised and soothed; it really helps to calm my skin and any redness down.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate £34.00/48ml

Like a hybrid between an essence and a serum, it has an ultra-lightweight gel formula that absorbs instantly into the skin for a real hit of hydration. I use this pretty much as the first product after cleansing, it gives instant hydration and plumps my skin to give a glowing, youthful appearance. I like to spend a good couple of minutes really massaging it in to get the best results, it’s a fab product and one that I can’t be without. I’m already on my second tube and it’s not long been released!

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc PCA 1% £5.00/30ml

Niacinamide, better known as Vitamin B3, really helps to reduce blemishes and any skin congestion. This is partnered with Zinc which again is another great ingredient to help fight blemishes and reduce sebum activity. I suffer a lot with hormonal breakouts and blemishes around my mouth and cheeks and I use this every morning and night within my serum step and keep my oil/shine free throughout the day and give lovely bright and clear skin the mornings when used at night. At £5.00, this is incredibly good value! I slather it on at every opportunity I can get, there are products on the market that cost anything up to £100.00 and over with the same ingredients list as this so this will always be within my collection.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum £66.00/30ml

Another serum, now this serum this really not what I would expect myself to love and I even surprised myself with this. I’m not normally a lover of skincare from brands like Chanel, DIOR, Givenchy etc as I just think there are so many better brands out there that do natural and organic skincare at cheaper prices with often better results. But this serum is genuinely unlike anything else I own. It’s so intensely hydrating that for me it’s worth every penny of that price tag. It contains camellia micro-droplets which create little pockets of air giving the serum a weightless effect on the skin. It doesn’t contain any alcohol which is probably one of the reasons why I love it so much as it doesn’t dry the skin out. It’s lightweight and absorbs into the skin immediately giving a plumped effect. I can’t tell you how amazing this makes my skin look and feel but honestly I’d be lost without this.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa Moisturiser £27.00/75ml

This was originally one of those products that I picked up on a whim in Boots one day when I was looking for a new evening moisturiser, I love the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum so it made sense to pick this up to. And it’s not that I didn’t expect good results from it, I just expected it to be a nice moisturiser that I would use up and then move on to the next one but honestly this product changed my skin. Enriched with HA and the Vichy thermal water it leaves my skin so plump that it’s almost bouncy. It has a really refreshing gel cream texture that massages so easily into the skin and you literally need only the tiniest amount as the formula spreads so easily over the skin. I actually used this moisturiser up and was aware of how good my skin was looking but I didn’t really think that it was down to this moisturiser but the rest of the products that I was using so I moved on to the next in line and after a week or so of not using this my skin reverted back to looking really quite dull and loads of blemishes kept cropping up; and it wasn’t until this that I realised how much it had helped my skin. Needless to say I re-purchased it and it is now a permanent fixture within my routine.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil £85.00/30ml

You guys know how much I love this. I have spoken about it so much on here and will never be without it. Containing retinol (Vitamin A) it’s a fantastic anti-ageing product, it helps to reduce my pores and fine lines and really plumps my skin. The blue tansy is an anti-inflammatory so it really helps to encourage skin renewal and repair making it perfect for tackling my blemishes and breakouts. This makes my skin so radiant and plump, it’s my secret weapon, and whilst yes I realise it is very expensive I believe very much in investing in my skin. I am however planning a post for Sunday Riley oil dupes so if you have a slightly lower budget then definitely look out for that as it will hopefully be useful.

Nyasa Metamorphosis Revitalising Beauty Oil* £95.00/30ml

And finally, my favourite facial oil. This contains a list as long as my arm of ingredients to make my skin happy; Pure Swertiamarin a powerful plant extract that helps to promote celular rejuvenation to plump the skin that in turn helps to reduce any fine lines or wrinkles, turmeric extract and too many essential oils to count. It’s like superfood for the skin. It’s such a light formula so is perfect for layering with other products and just makes my skin look the best it can be in the mornings after using this. It plumps, hydrates, reduces fine lines, injects glow, calms irritation and any redness and softens the skin also. And considering I’ve had this now for well over 6 months and use it pretty much every night there is still over ¾ of the bottle left.

So that’s it, my staple skincare items. Now don’t get me wrong, there are masses of other products within my collection that I absolutely love and would always re-purchase but I think I would genuinely have a melt-down if there was ever a moment that I was without one of the above mentioned products.

I’d love to hear what you staple skincare products are!
