So the time has come for me to take a break from Dreaming Pretty and blogging.
A lot has happened in my life over the past couple of years, with a very recent life change also, which has changed me as a person into someone who I feel like I don’t really know anymore. This has really put a new perspective on life for me, which has made me want to change certain things in my life and just do things differently. I have enjoyed every moment of the last few years creating and building Dreaming Pretty but recently over the past few months it has felt more of a chore than a hobby and with my new found perspective on life I feel it’s too short to be doing something that you no longer 100% enjoy.
It’s not been an easy decision to make but I feel it’s the right one and I feel it will give me freedom again. It sounds silly but I ended up getting so obsessed with the theme of my Instagram for example that I wouldn’t post a picture of my friend and I at the thought that it would disrupt this and honestly I just don’t want to think like that anymore. My weekends and evenings for the past few years have pretty much always been taken up with writing blog posts and photographing products and I’ve even missed out on family and friend opportunities for the pressure of getting a blog post written ready for the next day.
I have made some great friends through blogging, ones that I would still love to keep in contact with, and also learnt many valuable life lessons and tech lessons. And from my blog I have found my love for photography which I will definitely be carrying on but just no more beauty product photos! I love getting out in nature and going for long walks with my dog Minnie so this is what I really to focus on for my photography skills.
So I just really wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you lovely people that follow my blog and social media channels and it was because of you guys that kept Dreaming Pretty going for so long. But it’s now time for a new chapter and I’m excited for what lies ahead, so thank you and hopefully I can still stay in touch with those that want to over on Twitter and Instagram.
Morning guys and happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share with you my current Autumnal morning routine, I have always been much more of a morning person so will happily wake up the crack of dawn as I like to allow myself plenty of time to get ready. My routine doesn’t really change, whether it’s the weekend or a weekday, I still like to get up early and have a set routine to follow, so grab a drink as this is quite a long one:
Today I wanted to share some love for some of my favourite bloggers. We all already know about the big dogs out there but I think it’s important to celebrate the what I call ‘working’ bloggers. The ones that quite frankly keep the industry going with real, honest reviews and opinions that aren’t paid an absolute fortune for a post on Instagram. I still take my hat off to these bloggers/influencers, they have worked incredibly hard to be in the position that they are now in but personally I prefer to go to my favourites, who still have a substantial amount of followers, but also keep it real with their channels and actually engage with their readers.
Trying to juggle a full time job, a blog and personal life can be really quite difficult at times. Whenever I tell people I have a blog and they see how many products I get through for review purposes their first initial response is, oh I’m going to start a blog; it looks so easy and you get loads of free stuff. No, it is far from easy and let me remind you that, yes, it is technically free as I don’t purchase these particular products with my own money, but I have worked very hard, just like many other bloggers, to get to the position that I am in now with brands and PR companies and the products are effectively payment for my time in using, photographing and reviewing ‘said’ products, which can often can hours on end for one single product.
“A lightly carbonated, healthy energy drink.” Aspire Drinks have released a collection of three refreshingly flavoured energy drinks, that also aid in weightloss, contain no calories or sugar. It fact, the recipe combination actually boasts a number of good-for-you ingredients; including but not limited to, green tea, guarana seed extract, vitamins B & C and ginger root.
Looking to lose a few extra pounds for Christmas? Nutribuddy could be for you. A brand new natural nutrition brand based in Manchester, UK. I was contacted by Nutribuddy towards the end of October to try out their 2 week weight loss kit and have recently finished the programme so wanted to share my thoughts with you.
Ever heard of the saying “the early bird catches the worm”? This is a saying that I always try to remember and abide by, it’s meaning being the person who is up and awake early has an advantage over the person that sleeps in. Now that can be interpreted in many different ways, whether it be in terms of nature, your to do list or your food shopping.
