So the time has come for me to take a break from Dreaming Pretty and blogging.
A lot has happened in my life over the past couple of years, with a very recent life change also, which has changed me as a person into someone who I feel like I don’t really know anymore. This has really put a new perspective on life for me, which has made me want to change certain things in my life and just do things differently. I have enjoyed every moment of the last few years creating and building Dreaming Pretty but recently over the past few months it has felt more of a chore than a hobby and with my new found perspective on life I feel it’s too short to be doing something that you no longer 100% enjoy.
It’s not been an easy decision to make but I feel it’s the right one and I feel it will give me freedom again. It sounds silly but I ended up getting so obsessed with the theme of my Instagram for example that I wouldn’t post a picture of my friend and I at the thought that it would disrupt this and honestly I just don’t want to think like that anymore. My weekends and evenings for the past few years have pretty much always been taken up with writing blog posts and photographing products and I’ve even missed out on family and friend opportunities for the pressure of getting a blog post written ready for the next day.
I have made some great friends through blogging, ones that I would still love to keep in contact with, and also learnt many valuable life lessons and tech lessons. And from my blog I have found my love for photography which I will definitely be carrying on but just no more beauty product photos! I love getting out in nature and going for long walks with my dog Minnie so this is what I really to focus on for my photography skills.
So I just really wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you lovely people that follow my blog and social media channels and it was because of you guys that kept Dreaming Pretty going for so long. But it’s now time for a new chapter and I’m excited for what lies ahead, so thank you and hopefully I can still stay in touch with those that want to over on Twitter and Instagram.
Mandara Spa is such an affordable yet luxurious bodycare range and they recently launched a new collection in Summer called ‘Exotic Escape’. Taking inspiration from the pampering spa rituals of Indonesia, the range is infused with an evocative blend of coconut oil, spices and floral fragrance, aswell as ingredients including yoghurt, lotus flower milk, rose petals, aloe and cocoa giving a really beautifully rich yet uplifting fragrance.
Sheet masks truly are becoming something of a buzz within the beauty industry and with many brands turning their hand to them there is an increasing amount of brands creating niche and interesting new concepts to keep the hype going; and I have to say, KIKO have done this just brilliantly.
When it comes to haircare I’ve never really been one for investing in it, I would normally just buy the standard shampoo’s from the supermarket and was luckily blessed with hair that pretty much stayed in good condition whatever I threw at it. Unlike, my skincare, I was never massively into haircare but recently getting into my late twenties I have noticed my hair needing more care and attention so I’ve been doing a lot of research and trialing of products & brands.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my Autumn morning routine so I wanted to also give you a insight into my evening routine. As I have always been a morning person when it’s comes to the evening and bedtime I like to start my routine as soon as I get in from work meaning I can jump straight into bed when I’m ready without then having to do my skincare.
If I was ever in a situation that I had to pick only one makeup brand to use for the rest of my life Smashbox would be it, probably with Cover FX coming a very close second. They’re a cruelty free brand born out of the Smashbox photo studio in LA and cater for many different skin types and tones. So I wanted to share with you some of my favourites and also what’s on my wish list to pick up next:
The Blossom Jeju sheet masks are quite literally a thing of beauty. Sent to me to try out by the lovely people at Skinsider, they are a 2 part sheet mask combination containing 100% pure Jeju Camellia oil.
